It sure has hit me. I spend most of my days thinking of the places I could be and things I could be doing. Instead I’m in Upstate. Luckily, summer is near and that makes living in the North East not as bad but I still have my eyes set of traveling to new and better places.
While on my little blog hiatus, I worked for a travel agency for a short time. (Commission sales/associates are just not my style.) After working there, and traveling to Jamaica for training (yes, you read that right), I came to realize that even though flying is one of the worst experiences – ever – it does result in some pretty amazing trips. My Jamaica trip was amazing. I worked the whole time I was there but had a chance to see some of the scenery including an amazing sunrise the last morning I was there.
Needless to say, I am hooked on getting out there… with in reason due to flying. A few months later, I booked a flight to Vegas for my birthday. Why? I am still not sure really. The flights were cheap (like Vegas always is) so I thought why not. Well, 5 hours in a plane is why not! Anyways, two drinks in the airport, a snow storm, sliding on the runway during take off and 3? more drinks on the plane later… I was flying over the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen.
I have only been out west once and that was when I was 7 or 8 so I don’t remember much about the experience or the flight especially since I still enjoyed flying back then. Anyways, it was beautiful and a very easy flight to say the least. Vegas was an experience. I wasn’t there to party and have a Hangover experience seeing that I was with family but it was still fun. We spent some time walking around, shopping, went to the Grand Canyon and I even got to mark something off my 101 in 1001 list – seeing Britney Spears. Needless to say, it was a great time. Then the flight home… I won’t even go into that.
Anyways, flying aside, I can’t wait for my next adventure. The big question is where? It’s now summer break time and travel/accomdation prices are ridiculous so I probably won’t plan anything until after September when traveling is much more enjoyable with less people and more money! For now, I’ll sit on Pinterest and dream up the next big vacation.
